SUSTAINABILITY
Most liquid soap products are sold in a plastic bottle which is far less sustainable than the paper cover that most soap bars come in. Of course there are exceptions either way but in general liquid soaps are considered to have 25% greater carbon footprint than the bar equivalent.
This can be lowered if you use liquid soap refill packages although even in this case you should ask yourself how are the refill packages sold?
Also, many soap bars have ingredients that are natural and have gone through less or no processing at all. This is not the case with liquid soaps especially by big corporate manufacturers.
What’s the conclusion? Well, there isn’t a clear winner here or there but in general soap bars use better ingredients, are more sustainable than liquid soaps and can care for your skin just as good as the liquid products if not better.
